Fame: The Musical - The live shows kick off next Sunday

The 12 finalists who will compete in the live shows for 'Fame: The Musical' have been revealed.

The contestants, who will battle it out at The Helix over the next eight weeks, are Stuart Pollock, Jessica Cervi, Ben Morris, Philomena Fitzpatrick, Michael Joseph, Sarah O’Connor, Conleth Kane, Caoimhe Garvey, Drew Millar, Hollie O’Donoghue, Seán Carey and Susan Hall.

At the end of the eight weeks, one male contestant and one female contestant will win the lead roles in a nationwide production of 'Fame: The Musical'.

In a dramatic twist, finalist Susan Hall shocked the judges by deciding not to proceed in the competition.

Judge Robert C Kelly said: "I'm very sorry to see Susan leave as I believe she had a real chance of getting down to being one the final few girls."

"The challenge now is to replace her with someone equally as good, and I think we may have found that person."

The judges will now deliberate on which lucky girl will get the chance to take the final place in the live TV shows in The Helix next Sunday, when the contestants will perform live for the public vote and in front of the judges.

Joining the panel for the live television shows, from The Helix, beginning next Sunday evening, will be Erica Gimpel, who starred as Coco Hernandez in the original 'Fame' television series.
