The young actress who will star opposite Johnny Depp in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' has been announced.
Entertainment Weekly reports that French actress and model Astrid Berges-Frisbey will play the mermaid Syrena in the new blockbuster.
Twenty-three-year-old Berges-Frisbey has starred in the films 'La Premiere Etoile' and 'Un Barrage Contre le Pacifique' and the play 'Equus' on the French stage.

'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' begins production in Hawaii in June and is due to open in May of next year.
