Television presenter Derek Mooney has said that he can't wait for the live shows to kick off for 'Fame: The Musical'.
Speaking to RTÉ.ie about the new show, which will be searching for stars for a stage production of 'Fame', he said: "I think it's a fantastic programme."
"I think it's a great idea, because I'm interested in musicals anyway."
Mooney also said that the show's charm is that it isn't like any other reality show.
The broadcaster said: "It's a little bit more sophisticated I would say than 'The All Ireland Talent Show' and 'The X Factor'... 'X Factor' is what it is and it is brilliant and 'The All Ireland Talent Show' is what it is and it is brilliant."
"This is somewhere in between, with a little bit more sophistication, is what I would say. It's very skilfully, very subtly and very uniquely shot."
"It's not like anything you've seen before. It's similar, but it's different."
"There's a maturity there. People are able to stand on their own. They're not relying on hard-luck stories."
Referring to the live shows, he said: "I thrive on that. I love it, because it's happening right in front of you."
