Members of the crew working on the set of 'Desperate Housewives' have reportedly expressed doubts about Nicollette Sheridan's assault accusation against the show's creator Marc Cherry.
The actress, who played Edie Britt on the series, alleged that the writer-producer struck her in the face, and is now suing for assault and battery.
Gossip website TMZ.com is reporting that they've interviewed several staff members and they denied ever hearing or witnessing any violence between Sheridan and Cherry, with one saying Cherry is "very professional" and they've never seen anything more heated than "verbal tiffs" between Cherry and the actors on the show.
Another crew member told TMZ, "Nothing like this ever happened," and that she never witnessed "anything questionable or negative."
A former cast member told the site that if something like what Sheridan alleges happened, people on the set would have heard and talked about it.
ABC also denied Sheridan's claims, issuing a statement that said: "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."
