'Coronation Street' legend William Roache has said there will not be a live episode of the soap to mark its 50th anniversary later this year.
Speaking to the Press Association Roache, who has played Ken Barlow since the show first began, said: "We're not going to do a live episode, we did that in the Millennium year ['Coronation Street's 40th anniversary], we don't want to do that again.

"'EastEnders' did it for their [25th] birthday - they hadn't done it before."
