The role of Amy Barlow in Coronation Street has to be recast for the fifth time.

The Sun reports that producers at the popular ITV soap have decided to replace Amber Chadwick, who has played the youngster for four years, with another actress named Elle Mulvaney.

The move coincides with the return to the cobbles of Amy’s mother, Tracy Barlow, who is currently serving a prison sentence for the murder of Charlie Stubbs. She will be first seen back on TV screens in May for the funeral of her grandmother, Blanche. Towards the end of the year she will make a full-time return to the street.

The Sun quotes a source as saying "Amber was lovely but Elle is a very natural little actress."
