Irish actor Michael Fassbender begins shooting this week on the new film version of Charlotte Bronte's classic novel 'Jane Eyre'.
Fassbender is playing Mr Rochester in the film, with 'Alice in Wonderland' star Mia Wasikowska playing Jane Eyre.
The romantic period drama is a joint venture between Focus Features and BBC Films and is shooting in the UK.
Cary Fukunaga, the director of the award-winning 'Sin Nombre', is directing the film.
Commenting, James Schamus, Focus CEO, said: "Cary is the ideal choice to realise this unforgettable story in its traditional setting, yet with contemporary vitality and spirit. With two of today's most promising new stars in Mia and Michael, plus an outstanding supporting cast, this will be a 'Jane Eyre' for the ages."
