A fire broke out on the set of the latest Harry Potter film.

The blaze at Leavesden Studios in Watford, Hertfordshire, took hold of an outdoor set for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ on Friday night.

It took more than half an hour for firefighters to put out the "reasonably big" fire, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

A spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.27pm. The side of the set had caught fire.

"The damage to the side that caught fire was fairly extensive."

There were no casualties and the blaze was said to be accidental.

The forthcoming film about the boy wizard is the first half of the final movie in the series.
