'Coronation Street' bosses have denied claims that Julie Goodyear is being lined up for a return to the soap.
Yesterday, the News of the World claims that actress Julie Goodyear could be back as Bet Lynch in time for the show's 50th anniversary celebrations in December.
The paper claimed that new producer Phil Collinson wanted to axe some of the younger characters to make way for the return of some Weatherfield legends.
However, a Coronation Street spokesperson today told Sky: "At the moment there are no plans for Bet to return. The new producer hasn't even started yet, he's not made any decisions.
"There are lots of exciting things being planned for the 50th anniversary but nothing has been finalised."
Goodyear left 'Coronation Street' in 1995 after 25 years on the show.
Another name linked with a return is Kevin Kennedy, who played Curly Watts.
