Niamh Kavanagh - to represent Ireland again

Niamh Kavanagh was last night selected to represent Ireland at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo.

Singing 'It's For You', she battled it out against four other finalists in the Late Late Show Eurosong Special, topping both the public televote and the regional jury vote.

'It's For You' was composed by Niall Mooney, Lina Eriksson, Jonas Gladnikoff and Marten Eriksson.

Speaking after her win she said "It's an honour to once again represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Winning in Millstreet in 1993 was such an overwhelming positive experience and I'd like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who voted for the song tonight. I'd also like to thank the song writers for writing such an amazing, powerful song that I am really looking forward to performing in Oslo in May."

From almost 300 entries received, five songs were selected to be performed live on last night’s Late Late Show Eurosong Special.
