It has been announced that actress Drea de Matteo is leaving 'Desperate Housewives' at the end of the current season in May.
Warning: spoiler alert!
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the show's creator, Marc Cherry, said: "Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season. She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York."
De Matteo's character, Angie Bolen, is on the run and in upcoming episodes fans of the show will see the man she is hiding from, who will be played by 'Torchwood' star John Barrowman.
Cherry said that the finale involving Angie will be "explosive" and "all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed".
When asked about fans not warming to Angie, Cherry replied: "We shielded parts of her character because of the mystery. As we build toward the end and we start undoing the many layers of [Angie], everyone will get how brilliant she is."
