There is speculation that 'Desperate Housewives' star Dana Delany could leave the show to play the lead character in a new series.
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello says that Delany is in talks to star in the pilot episode of the planned series 'Evidence'.
The procedural drama focuses on the work of a medical examiner who was formerly a neurosurgeon.
Ausiello says that if a deal is agreed with Delany and for a full series it "would almost certainly take her away permanently from Wisteria Lane".
The network behind 'Desperate Housewives', ABC, declined to comment.
