'Dancing on Ice' star Karen Barber has said fellow judge Jason Gardiner's criticism on the show can "go a bit too far".
Gardiner was widely criticised and generated over 400 complaints to Ofcom last month after comparing competitor Sharron Davies to "faecal matter". The UK regulator did go on to clear the comments but Barber said his remarks were sometimes offensive.
She told The People "I understand criticism, but it shouldn't be too personal. And it shouldn't be offensive. There's a line and sometimes it gets crossed, especially by Jason. Jason totally believes in what he says and does, and I do too. I guess you could say I feel like the viewer may feel - that things go a bit too far."
She said: "We have clashed in the past after the show and at times I want him to pack it in. I have no fear about standing up to Jason, it doesn't bother me. It's hard for the contestants to stand up to a judge because they are aware they are going to be marked by them again next week. Therefore I am the voice of reason."
