Odds slashed on Tracey as Archie killer

Did Tracey kill Archie?

The odds on 'Eastenders' Tracey being revealed as Archie’s killer have been slashed after a surge of bets on the Walford barmaid.

Bookies in the UK have slashed her odds from 200/1 to 5/1.

Tracey, played by Jane Slaughter, has no known motive for killing Archie (Larry Lamb). The night he died she quit The Vic after a row with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).

But according to The Sun, some fans reckon she could have returned, witnessed a row and killed Archie in self-defence or to protect a Mitchell.

Asked if she could have been the killer, Jane has said: "I wouldn't think she is that dark but who knows, she could be. There are odds at the bookies to be had for her, but why?"

Others in the frame include Stacey Slater on 4/1, Jack Branning with 7/1 and Peggy Mitchell on 12/1.

However bookmaker William Hill says Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) remains the favourite to be unveiled as the murderer on tomorrow’s live 25th anniversary episode. Despite the character's absence from the programme, he currently has odds of 7/4.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams commented: "Tracey would be a serious shock to all, but we are hoping that Sean is proved to be a saint not a sinner, as if he is the killer we will be paying out a small fortune."
