Pop singer Leona Lewis has said that she doesn't expect to win at the Brit Awards tonight.

Lewis is nominated in the Best British Female Solo Artist category, alongside Bat For Lashes, Florence And The Machine, Lily Allen and Pixie Lott.

According to The Sun, the singer said: "If I had to put money down, mine would be on Lily Allen."

"It's nice to be nominated but I've never won one and it's by no means the be all and end all. I don't need that kind of approval."

"Because you've done a television show people think that you're not cool."

"It's really weird. People who vote for these things tend to vote against Simon Cowell and I'm not sure why."

"But people who go on these shows get up every single week and perform live and for me, that's the main thing."
