Love is in the air for 'Coronation Street' taxi driver Lloyd Mullaney (Craig Charles). Warning: spoiler alert!
The Press Association reports that Lloyd will meet lap-dancer Cheryl (Holly Quin-Ankrah) in the Rovers Return when she is having a drink with old friend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
The series' editor, Louise Sutton, told the 'Coronation Street' website that Lloyd is stunned when Cheryl appears to take an interest in him.
"He soon learns she's a lap-dancer but, far from being put off, he falls head-over-heels in love with her as he becomes her regular taxi driver," Sutton said.
Cheryl then tries to keep her distance from Lloyd, and he discovers she has a troubled personal life which could put him in danger.
Quin-Ankrah said: "I'm really happy to be joining 'Coronation Street'. It feels great and it's been really exciting seeing the set and meeting the cast. It's pretty scary too when you're sat in the Rovers filming a scene with Ken and Deirdre sat next to you!"
The actress will make her debut on the ITV show in April.
