Emma Watson was named Hollywood's highest paid female star.

The 'Harry Potter' star is estimated to have made €23 million in 2009, coming ahead of Cameron Diaz on the list who was the only other woman in the top 20.

The list was compiled by Vanity Fair magazine, and put Watson in 14th place.

As well as starring in the 'Harry Potter' films, Watson also models for the luxury label Burberry.

Watson's fellow 'Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe was placed sixth in the overall list, with his 2009 earnings put at more than €29 million.

Michael Bay, the 'Transformers' film maker, topped the survey with his income thought to be more than €89 million.

Stephen Spielberg came in second place with estimated earnings of €61.

Vanity Fair said that it interviewed agents, lawyers and studio executives who have access to deal terms when compiling the list.
