Former Corrie star Bruce Jones has bagged his first telly acting role since leaving the soap.
Jones, who gained fame as the Street's Les Battersby, will play a band manager in a comedy lampooning 'The X Factor'.
The sitcom, called 'That Band', follows Overdrive - a group of highly-sexed but useless singers who fail in a TV talent contest.
A show source told The Sun: "Overdrive are an X Factor-style boyband.
"There are a lot of groupies, sex scenes and general bad behaviour - it's like 'Skins' meets 'Phoenix Nights'."
"Bruce plays the band's manager trying to keep the boys in check."
A pilot of the show has already been filmed with former Corrie star Scott Wright and 'Hollyoaks' Lee Otway.
The series is expected to be screened on Sky or on E4.
