Former 'Big Brother' contestant Chanelle Hayes has revealed that she is to be a single mother.
The 22-year-old, who is three months pregnant, has split from the baby's father, Middlesbrough footballer Matthew Bates.
Speaking to Star magazine Chanelle revealed details of her relationship breakdown, her pregnancy and how she's coping without Bates.
She told the magazine: "I'm happy now and I'm really excited about it. I wasn't ever planning to get pregnant, but I've been learning everything about what to do and just trying to enjoy it - even the bizarre bits, like food smells suddenly making me feel sick, and my fizzy cola bottle cravings."
She explained the moment she told her former partner she was pregnant.
"I was so nervous telling him I thought he might come around to the idea and not freak out...but he is only young.
"He went silent, but what can you say? It changes your life forever. We both sat in shock, then we just went to bed!
"We didn't really talk about it and I went home the next day. That was it."
Chanelle says that Matt, 23, later sent her a text that read: "We are not together any more."
But the 22-year-old hopes that he will play a role in bringing up their child.
"I've kept him informed and let him know when I'm having scans," she adds.
"Everyone takes different roles, so whatever role he wants to take, he is more than welcome to."
