Archer - Vows to ignore Cowell's advice

'X Factor's' Jamie Archer has vowed to ignore Simon Cowell's advice this week, saying: "I'll do it my way."

According to The Sun, the 'X Factor' star said that he has had enough of being bossed about by his mentor.

The pair rowed again last week after Simon changed his song at the last minute, which meant Archer had just 24 hours to learn 'Crying'.

On Sunday's results show he was the last contestant to be told he was safe before John and Edward and Lucie Jones went into a sing-off.

He said it made him realise he needs to fight back: "I've had a few problems with my confidence - I think everyone has seen that.

"I really thought I was a goner on Sunday when I was in the last three.

"I looked over at Lucie and the twins and thought, 'There's no way I'm not in the final two.'

"But when Dermot told me I was through I just punched the air and thought, 'That's it - I mean business.' I'm doing things my way from now on."

A fortnight ago Jamie was furious after being forced to drop an Elvis song he'd been practising all week for U2 hit 'Angel of Harlem'.

The 34-year-old told pals he was considering quitting after getting a rough ride from the show's judges.

Things got worse when he was asked by 'X Factor' guest star Jon Bon Jovi to join him on tour last week but was banned as he is under contract with the show.
