Bookies Paddy Power has gotten behind 'X Factor' hopefuls John and Edward Grimes in this year’s competition.

They gave the twin’s father, John Senior, a €1,000 bet at odds 50/1 of his sons winning this year’s contest. All winnings from the bet will be donated to the Grimes family’s charities of choice – the Marie Keating Foundation and the ISPCA.

A spokesperson from Paddy Power said: "We think the lads are great fun and we jumped at the opportunity to get behind them. Hopefully Robbie William’s support will give them the X Factor they need to go on and win!”

At 50/1 the twins are outsiders in the betting to win this year’s 'X Factor', along with Rachel Adedeji who is also currently at 50/1.

The favourites are Danyl Johnson and Joe McElderry at 3/1, followed by Stacey Soloman at 7/2, Jamie Archer and Olly Murs at 6/1. Lucie Jones is at 8/1, Lloyd Daniels 20/1 and Miss Frank 25/1.
