Ramon Tikaram, one of the stars of the BBC's classic twentysomething show 'This Life', is joining the cast of 'EastEnders'.
The Mirror reports that Tikaram, who played Ferdy in 'This Life', will play the father of Amira Shah (Preeya Kalidas) and future father-in-law of Syed Masood (Marc Elliott).

Tikaram will make his debut in Albert Square later this year as the wedding plans are being finalised.
A source said: "He and Amira have had a difficult relationship since her mother died of cancer. He lost his business and is now keen to build bridges with his daughter."
The actor told the newspaper: "It's great to be joining a show that represents a Muslim family in a positive light."
