A post mortem on the body of Boyzone singer Stephen Gately is expected to be carried out tomorrow as today is a public holiday in Spain.

The 33-year-old singer died suddenly on Saturday in Majorca, where he had been on holiday with his partner.

Spanish Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious. Gerald Keane, the lawyer representing the singer's family, said his death was a tragic accident. It is likely to be a few days before Stephen Gately's family can have his body repatriated to Ireland.

Last night his four fellow band members arrived in the Majorcan resort of Port Andratx. Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch spent about an hour at the holiday home Stephen shared in the resort with his partner, Andrew Cowles.

Police had been called to the house on Saturday after Gately failed to wake up after a night out in the town.

They say there are no suspicious circumstances but the cause of death is unlikely to be established until the post mortem has been carried out.
