X Factor judge Louis Walsh, who is Boyzone's manager, did not appear on the live show and withdrew earlier in the day, saying that he was "very shocked and exceptionally upset" by the shocking news.
The 33-year-old died suddenly while on holiday in Majorca with his civil partner Andy Cowles.

A spokesman for Gately's family told the BBC: "There's no foul play involved and it's not suicide.
"It's just a tragic accident is what we've been told and we're happy that that is correct information.
"There is nothing untoward, it's not drugs, we don't believe, it's not suicide, it's not murder, it's not a fight. That's what we've been told."
Dannii Minogue had earlier paid her respects on Twitter, she said:
"My thoughts go out to Andrew Cowles, and the boys Ronan, Keith, Shane and Mikey. Much love to Louis."
