'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson has said that he is pleased that Ellen DeGeneres is joining the judging panel.
Speaking to 'Fox and Friends', he said: "She can be the voice of the people among us."
"I think between me, Simon and Kara, there's enough musical experts to go around right there."
"[She's] going to bring a really interesting, different perspective to the people [and] to the panel."
Earlier this week, both Paula Abdul and Sharon Osbourne praised the appointment of DeGeneres, wishing her well in the role.
