Australian actress Cate Blanchett was injured on stage last night during a performance of 'A Streetcar Named Desire' in Sydney.
The Daily Mail reports that the Oscar-winning actress suffered injuries after she was hit by a radio during a fight scene as part of the performance. The show had to be cancelled after Blanchett was left with blood pouring from her head.
Blanchett, who plays Blanche DuBois in the play, was hurt during the scene with actor Joel Edgerton who plays Stanley Kowalski. Initially after the injury Blanchett had tried to continue with the performance but eventually she was forced to leave the stage.
Later a spokesperson for the theatre said "Cate’s just fine". Last night’s show was expected to go ahead as planned.
