Bono's wife fails to stop Nude launch

A legal bid to block the launch of Stella McCartney's latest perfume this weekend has failed.

The move was made by a cosmetics company which is partly owned by Bono's wife Ali Hewson.

The company Nude Brands Ltd claimed the use of the name STELLANUDE infringed on their trademark.

Nude Brands is the owner of a registered trademark for the word NUDE - in capital letters - for a large range of goods and services including cosmetics and perfumery.

But a judge in London refused to grant an interim injunction because he said it would cause massive disruption to the companies behind the NUDE perfume and probably cause them to abandon use of the brand altogether.
