Kate Winslet is to star in a new TV miniseries, directed by 'Far from Heaven' director Todd Haynes.
Variety reports that Haynes will also write the script for 'Mildred Pierce', an adaptation of the James M Cain novel which was also turned into a 1945 Oscar-winning film starring Joan Crawford.
'Mildred Pierce' tells the story of a bored housewife who becomes involved in the restaurant business, a move that leads to romance and murder.
