Peter Andre has said that he hopes to become the new Robbie Williams.

'The Mysterious Girl' singer said that Williams was the king of comebacks for his successful solo career after leaving Take That.

Speaking to The Sun, Andre said: "I believe I can do what Robbie Williams did."

He said that people had ridiculed Williams for being "the fat kid from Take That when he was doing 'Freedom'".

"He felt how I feel now," said Andre.

Both Andre and Williams' new albums are set to compete against each other in the charts.

"We're going head-to-head," said Andre. "I don't like losing. Robbie is a nice guy and I've always admired him."

Andre, 36, is keen to have a lengthy career in music: "When Elton John, Rod Stewart and people like that were signed up they had seven-album deals.

"It will take me two or three credible albums to be mentioned in the same breath but that's what I aspire to."
