Actor Gerard Butler has said he got his part in a new romantic comedy by telling risque jokes.

The Scottish heartthrob, who recently denied claims he was having a relationship with former Friends star Jennifer Aniston, said he entertained the makers of 'The Ugly Truth' over dinner while making an action movie.

His co-star Katherine Heigl, wearing a green Naeem Khan dress, wowed the crowd at the film's premiere in London's Leicester Square last night.

She insisted that Butler was a romantic at heart despite the chauvinistic character he played in the film. "Gerry doesn't talk about it that much, but I see a romantic soul in there," she said.
"I think he's a wine and flowers kind of guy."

Heigl shot to fame in the TV show 'Grey's Anatomy' but seemed keen to move on from it. Her publicist told reporters on three separate occasions they were not to ask questions about the medical drama.

In the film Heigl plays a romantically frustrated TV producer still looking for Mr Perfect who is teamed up with Butler's character - a TV personality with strong views on what makes men and women tick.
