RTÉ Television has announced the line-up for its new summer entertainment series 'Charity Lords of the Ring'.

Presented by Lucy Kennedy and boxing legend Barry McGuigan, the four-part, week-long series will follow 10 well-known personalities as they train and prepare for bouts against each other.

Among the contestants are: former footballer Lee Sharpe, comedian Alan Shortt, 'Fair City' star MacLean Burke, TV presenter John McGuire and 'Dragon's Den' entrepreneur Sean Gallagher.

Joining them will be journalist Joe O'Shea, former GAA star Jack Sheedy, journalist Paul Martin, RTÉ Young People's presenter Rob Ross and Ben Clarke, who appeared on the BBC's 'The Apprentice'.

The longer the contestants remain in the competition, the more money their charity will receive through corporate sponsorship.

'Charity Lords of the Ring' begins on RTÉ One on Saturday 15 August at 9.30pm and continues on Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Sunday 22 August.
