Some of the acts who performed at the Oxegen Festival this year have praised the Irish fans, while slating the weather that dominated the weekend.

Speaking about the fans who stayed out in the rain all weekend to support the bands, Bresy from The Blizzards said: "They couldn't care less. They just embrace it."

MC Double D of Sneaky Sound System also praised the Irish fans, saying before his performance: "I can't wait.

"We played here last year and it went pretty crazy and now we're playing in a bigger, better tent so I'm really looking forward to it. You guys go crazy. I'm sure if someone just had a little fiddle and a chair you guys would go crazy to that as well."

Referring to the bad weather, he said: "You like it wet over here. I'm from Australia and we don't like it wet over there.

"You guys get a bit annoyed if it's too sunny I think. You don't get a chance to buy gum boots (wellies) and I think you get upset when you can't buy gum boots."

"We're playing in a tent so I can't complain. I've got a really nice poncho on by the way," he said.
