Coronation Street star Simon Gregson rushed to hospital yesterday after his fiancée went into labour eight weeks early.
According to The Sun, Gregson, 34, who plays Rovers landlord Steve McDonald in the soap, was said to be "anxious" as he raced to Emma Gleave's side.
Bosses wrote him out of scenes so he could stay with Gleave's, 26.
A source close to the pair said: "Simon is hoping everything's going to be okay.
"Emma's about six to eight weeks early and doctors will want to delay the birth as long as possible."
The couple already have a son, 23-month-old Alfie.
