The 'Big Brother' housemates were set a series of sporting challenges yesterday.

A team led by Noirín triumphed in the challenges involving a relay race with a cactus baton and rolling across 248 upturned plugs.

The contestants also had to take part in a barefoot skipping race on a track with strategically-placed toy building blocks and a sack race where the sack contained stinging nettles.

And there was a stomach-churning egg and spoon race involving eating Chinese delicacy 1,000-year-old eggs. Noirín led her team mates Lisa, Rodrigo, Charlie and Dogface to victory, and their prize was a school disco.

Referee Marcus was also allowed to attend the party for correctly predicting that they would win.

In the highlights show screened last night, trouble brewed between love birds Kris and Dogface, who ignored one another for most of Saturday. Kris told Charlie: "She's too nice, that's the problem Char.”

Business student Sree continued his relentless pursuit of Noirín. The pair argued in the bathroom, when Sree told Noirín she did not understand friendship and she countered that he constantly insults people.

Meanwhile Marcus tried to give Halfwit, who has faced the public vote three times, advice on how to avoid being nominated. He said: "We are socially aware, but we are freaks."
