Actress Amy Huberman has spoken about her engagement to rugby player Brian O'Driscoll.
In an interview with the RTÉ Guide, Huberman said when O'Driscoll proposed to her it was a big surprise.
"We had talked about it because we had been living together for a year but the actual day was a complete and total surprise. I was there in my dressing-gown and all I wanted to do was go and get some fast food."
She spoke about how she felt about the fact that she is sometimes known as Brian O'Driscoll's fiancee, saying, "It's not too bad being known as Brian's girlfriend. In any event that just happens and you can't do much about it.
"You know when you go to certain functions the cameras will be there. But you just stay away from the rest of it. You have to have your own life as well."
The Clinic star has just published her first book, 'Hello, Heartbreak' which is about a woman searching for Mr Right.
Speaking about the perception that celebrities like Huberman are more likely to get a book deal because of who they are, she said, "That comes with the territory and it's hard, especially as you've worked on something for so long.
"Of course there's an element of begrudgery but people can make up their own minds at the end of the day."
