Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and members of the Pitt family have given $1m to a hospital in the actor's childhood home of Springfield, Missouri.
E! Online reports that Pitt's brother Doug announced the donation on Saturday.
The $1m will be used by St John's Hospital to help build a new paediatric unit and set up an endowment fund for children's care specialists.
The child cancer treatment unit will be renamed the Jane Pitt Paediatric Cancer Center in honour of the Pitt family's donation and the work of the actor's mother, Jane, for children's health.
