Two actors have been cast in the upcoming eighth series of '24', which goes into production today.
The Hollywood Reporter says that 'Kissing Jessica Stein' star Jennifer Westfeldt will play Meredith Reed, a journalist with links to Arman Hashemi ('Slumdog Millionaire' star Anil Kapoor), the Middle East leader on a peacemaking mission in the US.
John Boyd, whose credits include 'Fringe' and 'Law & Order', will play Jonah Schwartz, a systems analyst at the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU).
In total, there will be nine new major characters in the next season of '24'.
