Mel Gibson has confirmed rumours that his Russian girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is expecting a baby.
Fifty-three-year-old Gibson, who already has seven children, is currently involved in divorce proceedings with his wife of 28 years, Robyn.
She filed for divorce last month, citing irreconcilable differences.
Gibson made the announcement about singer and pianist Grigorieva's pregnancy on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'.
When asked about the baby's gender, he replied: "A human being, I think."
When asked if he would marry again, Gibson said: "Who would do it twice?"
He added that he had done "a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage" and that he and his wife had split up three years ago.
Gibson told Leno that he met 39-year-old Grigorieva last year after she was signed to his Icon Records label.
Their first public appearance as a couple was at a film premiere last month.
