It is reported that 'EastEnders' star Larry Lamb is to be written out of the soap.
The Mirror reports that the makers of the soap believe that Lamb's character, Archie Mitchell, has run out of plotlines.
The paper claims that stars of the soap are worried that the show's bosses want to reduce the number of cast members to save money.
It quotes an unnamed source as saying: "These are difficult times. Everyone’s keeping their heads down and hoping they still have a job at the end of each month."
