In a rare interview, Anna Wintour has revealed why she is rarely seen without her trademark sunglasses.

According to USA Today, Wintour revealed in an interview with CBS' '60 Minutes' that her signature shades act as "armour".

She says that no matter if she's enjoying a runway show, or bored out of her mind, nobody will notice.

Since becoming Vogue editor more than 20 years ago, she has forged a role as one of the most powerful players in fashion.

At 59, Wintour, who reportedly inspired the best-seller 'The Devil Wears Prada', plans to continue helming the renowned magazine.
