'Scrubs' star Zach Braff has agreed a deal to appear in six episodes of the planned ninth series of the comedy.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the makers of 'Scrubs' are working on changing the format of the show and mixing original cast members with some of the intern characters introduced in the eighth season.
Braff's co-star Sarah Chalke (Dr Elliot Reid) has also agreed to return for six episodes, with their fellow cast members Donald Faison (Dr Christopher Turk), John C McGinley (Dr Perry Cox) and Neil Flynn (The Janitor) all returning as series regulars.
Judy Reyes (Nurse Carla Espinosa) may return as a guest star if the ninth series gets the green light.
