Christian Bale has spoken out about his infamous tirade on the set of 'Terminator Salvation' fearing it will overshadow the summer blockbuster.
An audio tape of a raging Bale hurling abuse at the film's director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, was leaked online in February.
In a new interview with news show Access Hollywood, he said: "You think about the numbers of days we shot on that movie - 77 days - everything going well. What’s being focused on is four minutes where I behaved bad.
"I didn’t want that to overshadow the hard work of everybody on the crew, in every aspect. So I felt like I had to say something."
He insisted he has no thoughts about whether his on-set tantrum has changed the way people view him: "I don’t even think about that. I don’t really have an awareness of what anybody’s perception of me is, I don’t like to.
"I like being oblivious to that because it allows me just to get on with whatever project I’m doing."
Speaking about director MCG and Michael Caine who spoke in his defence as the taped tirade hit the headlines, he said: "I very much appreciate the people who did say that...It still doesn’t excuse it, but I do appreciate it."
Bale blasted Hurlbut after the crewmember stepped into his vision to correct a lighting problem during a scene.
