'The Wire' star Dominic West is to play the lead role in a new fact-based BBC drama about the discovery of penicillin.
West will play Australian scientist Howard Florey in 'Breaking the Mould', which follows the work of Florey and his team.
Speaking about the drama, West said: "It's great to be working with BBC Drama on such a brilliant script. The story of Florey seems little known in the UK but in Australia, he is considered one of their greatest heroes and therefore it is wonderful to be playing him."
