Phillip Schofield has reportedly told ITV producers that he wants Holly Willoughby to replace Fern Britton as his co-presenter on 'This Morning'.
Britton is due to depart in July and The Sun claims that ITV bosses are currently considering a shortlist that includes Willoughby, Kate Garraway, Gaby Roslin, Myleene Klass and Davina McCall, among others.
Willoughby is Schofield's co-presenter on ITV's 'Dancing on Ice'.
With Schofield and Britton allegedly not getting along in the wake of her surprise decision to quit the show, Schofield is reportedly keen to ensure better personal relations with his next co-host.
A source told the paper: "Phil is determined to have a say in who gets the job. It's no secret he and Fern are no longer best mates. He has a great time doing 'Dancing on Ice' with Holly, so the chemistry is there."
The Sun also revealed that the new 'This Morning' host is likely to be asked to take a reduced salary of between £150,000 to £250,000, due to ITV's current financial state.
