Christina Aguilera is to make her movie debut in a contemporary musical called 'Burlesque'.
Variety reports that the film tells the story of a singer from a small town who finds love and success in a Los Angeles club.
'Burlesque' will begin shooting later this year.
While the film is her first starring role, Aguilera previously lent her voice to the animated adventure 'Shark Tale'.
