Former Dynasty star Linda Evans has been crowned the winner of this year's 'Hell's Kitchen'.

The 66-year-old battled it out against comedian Adrian Edmondson in last night's live final.

The American actress was picked by members of the voting public as their favourite celebrity chef.

When she heard the news she clasped her hand over her mouth in disbelief and hugged runner-up Edmondson.

After spending 16 days under the tutelage of Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White, Evans said she "loved" her experience in the kitchen.

Evans started the series on the wrong foot when she was banished from the kitchen because of disappointing head chef White during the first service.

The bandana-wearing chef told Evans she needed more time to "settle" before picking up a pan again. After her first put-down she started gaining confidence and winning White's approval.

She triumphed in the pasta challenge set by American chef Mario Batali by creating the best ravioli dish.

The actress also proved herself when she overcame her nerves and was the first to kill an eel during a task.

After killing her catch, she said: "I'm glad I did it, I volunteered to be here and I said I wanted to learn and I'm going to learn."

The competition, which has been presented by Claudia Winkleman, has seen a resignation from former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar and three sackings from head chef White.

Shameless star Jody Latham was first to be fired followed by businessman Grant Bovey. His wife, former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner, was the last to dismissed by the head chef.

After the initial rounds of sackings, the public vote was introduced which saw off singer Niomi McLean-Daley and model Danielle Bux, leaving only Edmondson and Evans in the final.

Evans said that after the show she is going to have "Ade withdrawal" and is going to ask his wife Jennifer Saunders if the couple will visit her in Seattle.
