Director Neil Jordan has donated his scripts, research notes and letters to the Irish Film Archive at the Irish Film Institute.

The collection, which includes material from 'The Crying Game', 'Michael Collins' and 'Interview with the Vampire', will be preserved and catalogued for future generations.

Commenting, Kasandra O'Connell [pictured with Jordan] of the Irish Film Archive said: "The Irish Film Archive is thrilled that Neil Jordan has entrusted his collection into our care.

"His work is an integral part of Irish film history and will be of great interest to film researchers both nationally and internationally.

"The Archive receives more research requests from abroad about Neil Jordan than any other Irish filmmaker."
