Gay Byrne is to return to RTÉ Radio 1 for a special miniseries of programmes this Easter.
Beginning on Tuesday, 7 April at 9.02pm and running each night until Good Friday, 10 April, Byrne will present 'Passion Players', during which he and a panel of experts will discuss Judas Iscariot, Pontius Pilate, Mary, mother of Jesus and Jesus of Nazareth.
Commenting Byrne said: "Although I'd describe myself as a committed Christian, and I do my best to try to live according to that, really, when it comes down to it, I'm no expert, and know as much or as little as any other ordinary layman, which probably amounts to what I was taught at school."
He added that he was interested "in listening and learning" as the experts analysed the stories of the four.
