RTÉ has launched ‘Storyland’, its first ever drama series for the web, with the public voting for the story they want to see developed.

RTÉ has commissioned nine drama pilots specifically for the web and as well as new talent, seasoned players from both in front of and behind the camera feature in the nine series.

Writer Pat McCabe is involved with one of the drama's along with actors Geraldine Plunkett, Simon Delaney, Allen Leech, Hugh O’Connor and award-winning director PJ Dillion.

Nine dramas are now being webcast on www.rte.ie/storyland with the public being asked to cast their vote and decide which of the dramas should be commissioned for second and subsequent episodes.

The closing date for voting on the first episode is Monday 30 March.

The nine series are: ‘Happy Slapper’, ‘Psych Ward’, ‘Rental Boys’, ‘Running Low’, ‘Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’, ‘Chez Spuds’, ‘Pub World’, ‘Hardy Bucks’ and ‘This is Not A Conspiracy Theory’.

A panel chaired by Irish scriptwriter (‘Adam & Paul’ and ‘Garage’) and actor Mark O’Halloran chose the drama pilots to be webcast on www.rte.ie/storyland
