The British Prime Minster Gordon Brown has led tributes to reality television star Jade Goody, who died at the weekend, after a battle with cancer.
Speaking about Goody, Brown said: "I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jade Goody's death."
"She was a courageous woman both in life and death and the whole country have admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children."
Her fellow 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Shilpa Shetty said: "I am deeply saddened by the news but in hindsight glad she is out of pain and passed away peacefully in her sleep."
'Big Brother' producer Phil Edgar-Jones said: "She represented an idea that you could get opportunities and if you get opportunities you could make the most of them, no matter where you came from, and I think that's inspired a lot of people over the years."
Reverend Jonathan Blake, who performed Goody's marriage ceremony last month, said: "Her great sense of generosity of spirit, particularly in allowing us to take a journey to the rainbow bridge between this world and the next, is a source of inspiration to people and families who are going through the exact same thing."
Goody died in her sleep at her home on Saturday night. She had been battling cervical cancer for several months.
